Environmental policy
Eco-friendly hotel in the eastern Algarve
Ozadi Altura develops an Environmental Policy by practicing eco-efficient management to minimize the environmental impacts resulting from its activities and services. In this way, it makes rational use of natural resources and energy, reducing the effects of pollution on the environment as much as possible.
Concrete examples of good practices in the hotel's Environmental Policy include, among others:
- The installation of 96 solar thermal panels, which have the capacity to produce up to 70% of the hotel's domestic and service hot water needs.
- Recycling all used cooking and maintenance oils with commercial partners.
- The separation/sorting of all your waste: organic, paper and cardboard, glass, metal, and green waste (garden cleaning, etc.).
- For the past year, the hotel has had its laundry machines operating on shorter cycle times, which results in energy savings, and at a low temperature of 40°.
Since 2012, more than 15 energy meters have been installed in various locations (electricity, gas and water), which has resulted in a reduction in energy consumption of around 20%.
In accordance with current legislation, the Ozadi Altura Beach Resort:
- regularly assesses the potential environmental impacts it may cause, complying with all applicable standards and regulations for sustainable tourism;
- It maintains partnerships with external entities, whether public or private (governmental institutions, municipalities, associations, suppliers, etc.), in order to improve the environmental performance of its activities, products, and services. To this end, it also involves clients and employees, with regular environmental awareness campaigns for its staff.
